Food-based support for clinical recovery, chronic care & everyday wellbeing

Nutrition shapes how a person thinks, sleeps, heals, and recovers, which is why this department works as a bridge rather than a standalone service. Every plan we build starts from what a patient can realistically sustain, not from a generic chart.
This department works hand in hand with Clinical Psychology and Addiction Psychology, since appetite, eating patterns, and treatment adherence are often the first visible signs of a patient's broader recovery, or the first warning signs that something needs attention.
The goal is the same one that guides every Legion Bridget department: real, sustainable second chances. When food knowledge becomes a skill a patient or family member can carry forward, our long-term vision is to open pathways toward volunteer work, employment, or further study within the Legion Bridget and Studio Legion ecosystem.

Individual evaluation of eating habits, health history, and daily routine to build a realistic starting point.
Practical meal plans coordinated with each patient's clinical treatment, budget, and available ingredients.
Dietary support for patients managing chronic conditions, working alongside their broader clinical team.
Hands-on cooking sessions that teach patients and families how to prepare balanced meals with what they have.
Group sessions that give families and school communities practical tools for healthier everyday eating.
Before recommending any change, our team reviews each patient's health history, current eating patterns, cultural context, and daily routine. This first conversation sets a realistic, honest baseline, rather than a plan built on assumptions.
Meal plans are built to work alongside a patient's psychological or medical treatment, not around it, and are adjusted as that treatment evolves. Every plan accounts for what is actually accessible and affordable for the patient's household.
For patients managing chronic conditions, consistent nutrition is often as important as the treatment itself. This service coordinates directly with Clinical Psychology's treatment-adherence work so dietary guidance reinforces, rather than complicates, a patient's overall care plan.
Guided cooking sessions turn nutrition theory into a skill patients and families can actually use, covering food handling, simple techniques, and how to stretch a limited budget without losing nutritional value.
Group workshops for families and school communities focus on practical, everyday decisions, reading labels, planning affordable weekly menus, and recognizing the link between diet and mood or concentration.

All nutritional guidance is coordinated with each patient's broader clinical team under strict confidentiality protocols aligned with HIPAA standards and Salvadoran health regulations. No individual patient information is shared outside the care team without explicit, informed consent. This department operates as part of a transdisciplinary team and collaborates with other departments whenever a case requires it.
